Blood Drive on September 30th!
The Diversity & Inclusion Committee at PCHC is pleased to sponsor a blood drive on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 9am-1pm at the Prairie Avenue Health Center. Our goal is to collect 30 units of blood and also encourage donors to see if they may be a match for someone in need of bone marrow. Pictured below is Jeralene, daughter of Arlene Ares, Senior HCA at Capitol Hill. Jeralene is an ambassador for the RI Blood Center. Her family has sponsored bone marrow drives for many years on her behalf hoping to find a match for their sweet daughter. Maybe you could be the match!
Most blood donors in Providence are not members of minority communities and the D&I committee is hoping to increase participation among people of all ethnicities! We will be spreading our message of giving by donating blood to our patients and employees. Special thanks to Michael Leighton, Assistant Health Center Director at Chafee clinic for inspiring the D&I committee to run with his idea of sponsoring a blood drive. Help save a life!
