Dr. Altuḡ Köymen, received his Bachelor of Science, Magna Cum Laude in Chemical Engineering, at Carnegie Mellon University. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Köymen completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at George Washington University. He has studied national socialized healthcare systems in The Netherlands and Turkey. Dr. Köymen joined PCHC in 2006. He has been the Chair of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department since 2020. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine.

Dr. Anne Murray, received her Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude in Women’s Studies, from Harvard University; and Doctor of Medicine from University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. Dr. Murray completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Women and Infants Hospital in Rhode Island. She also studied at San Francisco State University and the School for International Training in Kathmandu, Nepal. Dr. Murray joined PCHC Central in 2007. She is a member of PCHC’s Diversity and Inclusion committee with a particular interest in health equity and racial and social justice work. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine. When she’s not working, Dr. Murray enjoys spending time with her family, hiking outdoors with the dog and travelling.

Dr. Jenny David received her Bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of New England, and completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island. Dr. David joined PCHC in 2019, bringing additional experience as a Doula and Women’s Health educator to enhance her exceptional patient care. Dr. David is bilingual in English/Spanish and has worked as a Medical Spanish instructor. In her free time, Dr. David enjoys music – she sings and plays both the guitar and banjo. She also loves cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.

Jennifer Sunderland received both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing, Nurse-Midwifery program, from University of Rhode Island. Prior to joining PCHC in 2018, Jennifer worked as a labor and delivery nurse with Newport Hospital birthing center and later practiced as a Certified Nurse-Midwife, with both hospital and private practices throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island, providing care for routine and high-risk obstetrical and gynecological patients. When not working, Jennifer enjoys gardening, cooking, reading and spending time with her family.

Stephanie Avila, a Certified Nurse Midwife and Family Nurse Practitioner, received her BA in Psychology from George Washington University, her BS and MS in Nursing, with specialty in midwifery, from Columbia University and her Family Nurse Practitioner certification from University of Rhode Island. While on a traveling fellowship in Quito, Ecuador, Stephanie did postpartum teaching and worked on family planning educational materials at Quito’s public maternity hospital. Stephanie was Director of Maternal and Child Health Programs for the National Council of La Raza. Prior to joining PCHC in 2017, Stephanie worked as Nurse Midwife and Family Nurse Practitioner. In her free time, Stephanie enjoys physical challenges like triathlons and the Save the Bay Swim, as well as hiking, knitting, and baking.

Dr. Ida Bernstein is a graduate of Harvard Medical School who completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island.
She previously worked as an OB/GYN at UMass Memorial Health in Worcester where she served on the Clinic Inclusivity Working Group and Maternal Morbidity and Equal Review Committee. Dr. Bernstein received her B.A. in Biological Sciences from Cornell University, College of Arts and Sciences. She has served as a medical care volunteer with both Clinica Esperanza and the Rhode Island Free Clinic.
She is a member of several professional organizations including the Society for Academic Specialists in General Obstetrics and Gynecology, American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, Society of Family Planning, and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr. Emily White received her Bachelor’s degree from George Washington University and her Medical degree from State University of New York at Brooklyn College of Medicine. She also received an Executive Masters in Public Health from Columbia University. Dr. White completed her residency in ObGyn at Brown University, Women and Infant’s Hospital. Following this Dr. White worked at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and Langone Hospital, New York University. She was recently promoted to Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
As the Chair of the Rhode Island section of American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), Dr. White is very active in advocating for women’s health both nationally and here in Rhode Island. Dr. White joined PCHC in 2012. In her free time, Dr White enjoys biking and travelling.

Dr. E. VyVy Trinh completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara in Santa Clara, CA. She earned her medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University and holds a Masters in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
She is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She serves on the Board of Directors for Camp RYSE, a literacy-focused summer day camp for refugee youth in Providence, RI that she has been deeply involved with since 2013. In her spare time, she makes comics and zines, eats noodles, and goes on adventures with her husband Paul.

Dr. Libertad Flores completed a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Cornell University, a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and completed both her medical degree and residency at Brown University. Dr. Flores joined Providence Community Health Centers after practicing general Ob/Gyn at Women & Infants Hospital and Blackstone Community Health Centers. Dr. Flores is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where she has been recognized with several teaching awards. She has numerous peer-reviewed publications, abstracts, mentoring, and presentations to her credit. She has a particular interest in promoting reproductive justice and inclusion in medicine, and is a member of the Rhode Island Foundation’s Equity Leadership Initiative. In her free time, Dr. Flores enjoys exploring Rhode Island with her family through day hikes and backyard vegetable gardening.
La Dra. Libertad Flores se formó como médico y realizó su residencia en la Universidad de Brown.
