Dr. Hewamudalige named a “40 Under Forty” awardee by Providence Business News
Congratulations to Dr. Nadine Hewamudalige, who was recognized as a “40 Under Forty” recipient by the Providence Business News on July 18 at the Aldrich Mansion in Warwick. Dr. Hewamudalige, our Vice President & Chief Medical Officer, was one of 40 honorees selected based on their career success and involvement within their communities. In the eight years since joining Providence Community Health Centers, Dr. Hewamudalige has held escalating clinical leadership positions including Physician Site Lead and Medical Director. In 2023, she was named Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, overseeing all clinical services, including Primary Care and Specialty Care Services, as well as Clinical Operations and Pharmacy.
Dr. Hewamudalige attended the University of British Columbia for Life Sciences and Family Studies and earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in 2012. She served as the Chief Resident at Penn State University – Hershey Medical Center’s Family and Community Medicine Residency program in Hershey, PA.
Dr. Hewamudalige is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. She has won several awards for Medical Student Education and is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Brown University. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Care Transformation Collaborative of Rhode Island. Congratulations to Dr. Hewamudalige on this well-deserved honor!
