Dr. Margaret Miller named Medical Director of Primary Care Services at PCHC
Dr. Margaret Miller has joined Providence Community Health Centers as Medical Director of Primary Care Services. She will oversee and direct a broad range of primary care services and primary care clinicians with a focus on guiding our team in the planning and delivery of high-quality clinical care with an emphasis on patient access and satisfaction. Dr. Miller reports to Dr. Nadine Hewamudalige, VP & Chief Medical Officer.
Dr. Miller previously served as Chief of Women’s Services with the Lifespan Physician Group. She was also Medical Director of the Lifespan Physician Group Lifestyle Medicine Center, where she was the driving force behind a program focused on nutrition, exercise, and other activities like yoga to help patients control weight, diabetes, chronic illness, and improve pregnancy outcomes. She also held the position of Division Director of Obstetric Medicine at Women & Infants Hospital.
An associate professor of medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Dr. Miller has served in numerous governance and advisory roles throughout her career. She is an American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) certified Diplomat of Lifestyle Medicine.
Dr. Miller received a medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Rhode Island Hospital/Warren Alpert Medical School. She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, co-chair of the Women’s Health Council of Rhode Island, and past president of the North American Society of Obstetric Medicine.
She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and practices OB Medicine. Her clinical and research interests include lifestyle medicine, lifestyle factors, and pregnancy outcomes, the link between pregnancy complications and long-term health, and models of care delivery.
