Ralph Chartier recognized with President’s Award for Excellence
It was almost 10 years ago that Ralph Chartier joined Providence Community Health Centers as director of our Capitol Hill Health Center. As his responsibilities have expanded over the past decade, Ralph has consistently demonstrated his commitment to patients, fellow staff, and the community. This is just part of the reason that Ralph is the latest winner of our Pres¬ident’s Award for Excellence. He was announced as the awardee at the January 4th All Staff meeting.
The President’s Award for Excellence is given to employees who demonstrate behaviors con¬sistent with our core values and serve as a role model to others. A total of 13 PCHC team members were nominated for the award. “I am humbled by the work our amazing staff does every day to serve our patients,” said Ralph. “Their dedication motivates me to strive for my best, as I believe the work we all do truly changes entire communities. We live our mission every day, and that is inspiring.”
Ralph, who is now Associate Vice President, Site Operations, was nominated by Kimberly O’Connell, Vice Pres¬ident and Chief Transformation Officer. Kim cited Ralph’s leadership on numerous PCHC projects including the completion of our Atwood site, launch of adult dental expansion, planning for Central Health Center expansion, clinic transformation planning, colonoscopy patient navigation program, centralized autoclave planning, Cross¬roads service expansion, template and clinic hours revamp, and Epic Go Live planning.
Known for his advocacy for both patients and staff, Ralph’s nomination reads in part: “You will regularly hear Ralph question ‘How is the staff going to feel about this decision?’ or ‘How is this decision going to impact ac¬cess or care for our patients?’ Ralph’s insight and opinion is extremely valued throughout the organization and his input and assistance is regularly sought out by providers, staff, and leadership. He is considered a mentor to many and a trusted advisor to so many more.”
